Choosing what to study at university was easy for me, I had fallen in love with drama and performing arts over the past few years and I knew straightaway that's what I wanted to pursue, whether that be acting, directing, producing or writing. I joined a musical theatre group when I was nine years old after moving to North Somerset and automatically knew that's where I belonged and where I was happiest. After working in the ensemble for a number of years I started getting small speaking parts and a few solos in our shows before multirolling in Alice in Wonderland and then being cast as the stepmother in Cinderella. One of the first vocal solos I had in a show was an original script written by one of the directors of the company which revolved around a sort of performing arts, Big Brother situation in which we competed in dance and vocal numbers. I was also blessed with being chosen to sing a trio song in our Michael Jackson tribute shortly after his passing. Every time I performed I would be so happy and it made me realise who I was as a person, So when I chose my A-levels there was no question when it came to choosing drama and performing arts.
When I arrived at university to study drama theatre and performance studies I was shocked and thrilled by the amount of talent I was introduced to in these people I was working with. I have met some people with such strong ambition and amazing visions that they have made me strive more for what I believe in and what I want accomplish. This year I was cast in original musical written by one of my most talented and inspiring friends Mr Luke McCabe and it was such a brilliant experience that I'll never forget. The rehearsal period and showtime of this musical made me remember how much I love performing after having some time off the stage and make me even more excited for future auditions in the next year. The people I work with are such a brilliant support system and are amazing at building my confidence and have made me a much more confident performer.
